About

The National Children's Study is the largest research study of children's health and the environment ever conducted in the United States. The Study will look at how the environment affect children's health and development. The National Children's Study will involve 100,000 children across the United States, following them from birth until the age of 21.

The Greater Chicago Study Center (NCS-GCSC), a collaboration between Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of Chicago and the National Opinion Research Center, is working with national researchers to conduct the National Children's Study locally. The NCS-GCSC is currently implementing the NCS in Cook County.
